How to make an anarchist flag with fabric and color for Iran and Afghanistan

Cut a 120x70cm black rectangle in half from the two opposite corners. Do the same with the red rectangle. Then, connect the black and red pieces and embroider. Sew the edges to protect them from loose threads. “No Leader” and “No Government” on one end and “Power to the people” on the other end should all be written in white and put the anarchy logo underneath the “No Leader – No Government” slogan

When the red and black triangle pieces are sewn together, a rectangle is obtained again

The Anarchy logo should be in black ink in the red section

Footnote: Each comrade has their freedom in choosing the slogan or the color of the flag. And if, for example, there was a differing opinion and small difference in selecting a slogan, each individual can do their practical action to bring their decision to fruition

In choosing this slogan, some had the opinion of using “Mellat”* to make the slogan rhyme, and in their view, the meaning of “Mellat” is practically changed here**. On the other hand, “No Leader – No Government” best reflects the most important principles of anarchism, and it’s a practical slogan

One opinion was to use “Mardom”*** instead of “Mellat”. Another suggestion was to use the council instead of “Mellat” or “Mardom” in the slogan

We wrote the method of making the flag so it can be distributed in suitable places, and its performance would show the anarchists’ active presence. This is the inner desire of the weak and vulnerable strata of society and it is the beginning of creating awareness. From now on, we try to fly this flag in all the new uprisings

* ”Mellat” means nation, people, peasants, and folks, with the nation being the most common understanding of the word in Persian language today

In the context of the slogan, the meaning of “Mellat” changed from nation to the people

“Mardom” means people, public, folks
