Against the execution of political prisoners, medieval sentences of imprisonment and flogging of workers in Iran

International organizations advocating political prisoners and workers rights

Once again, the Islamic Republic has launched its ominous vicious and repressive actions against the political prisoners and protesting workers. These extensive attacks which are taking place in the shadow of the deadly presence of Corona virus in our country, demonstrates the depth of the regime’s hatred and vengeance towards the dissident, workers and toilers

Recently, the death sentence of Hedayat Abdollahpour, a political prisoner, was carried out in secret. Zainab Jalalian, another political prisoner, was transferred to Qarchak prison in Varamin, where she contracted Corona virus. The three political prisoners, Amir Hossain Moradi, Saeed Tamjidi, and Mohammad Rajabi, who protested in the November 2019 uprising, are facing the danger of the death penalty. There are reports on the confirmation of their sentences, which has been published by the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic

The Islamic Republic, has a long history of brutal repression and crackdowns on the workers and the killing of political prisoners and the mass killing of the protesters in November 2019, demonstrated that it has a high capacity to eliminate the detainees of the protests, and the possibility of death sentences for these political prisoners is significant

On the other hand, the inhumane Criminal Court of Arak city, has responded to the rightful protests of 42 workers of Azaraab, each with brutal sentences of 74 lashes and one month of forced labor

If we, the world, do not stand up against this new wave of executions and the issuance of medieval sentences, such as, floggings of the workers and civil activists, this inhumane process will go on intact and be performed, and it will continue, unknown to the rest of the world, because of the lack of media coverage, due to the global outbreak of Corona virus

We, the political, social, and cultural activists, consider this, as our immediate and humane responsibility to stand against these heinous and reactionary actions of the Islamic Republic. And we call on all international labor organizations and human rights supporters and defenders of political prisoners and human right advocates, to show their abhorrence and protests by every possible means.
