According to the official announcement from the “Electoral Authority” at the Ministry of Interior, only 40% of eligible voters participated in Iran’s heavily manipulated 14th presidential election, which took place on June 28, 2024. The ruling fascist Shia Islamic state in Iran has, since its inception in 1979, never released accurate statistics. Therefore, the reliability of this figure is questionable. This means that at least 60% of the population ignored the regime’s strong hypocritical propaganda machinery and refused to participate in the election circus under Ali Khamenei’s leadership. Since the election result did not reach the required 50% + 1, a second round will be held on July 5, 2024, between the candidates “Masoud Pezeshkian” from the Reformist Front and “Saeed Jalili” from the Fundamentalist Front.

It is interesting to recall that Ali Khamenei said in his speech at the Friday prayer on May 10, 2001, at Tehran University:

“… It is shameful for a nation, like some of these nations (USA) that you see, with all their arrogance, to have only thirty-five to forty percent of the eligible voters participate in their presidential election! …”.

Neither Ali Khamenei nor the president-elect who will emerge from this election have the will or the ability to resolve Iran’s profound socio-economic, political, and cultural crises. The hardworking people will continue to struggle against skyrocketing inflation, widespread poverty and misery, increasing unemployment, homelessness, and other issues.

The only solution to the current capitalist crisis in Iran (and globally) is to overthrow the ruling Islamic state in its entirety through a libertarian revolution with demands for equality and justice.
