THE PEOPLE’S BLOODY UPRISING AGAINST THE FASCIST STATE IN BANGLADESH!

After weeks of massive anti-government demonstrations against a controversial law, Bangladesh has been shaken where hundreds of people (at least 300) have been killed by police forces.

The law states that “30 percent of all public services must go to family members of those who fought in the liberation war against Pakistan in 1971.” The Supreme Court then intervened and reduced the quota to 5%. But the students also demanded a public apology from the female Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for using excessive force. She refused to apologize, instead calling the protesters terrorists!

The protest movement intensified so much that in the end Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign by the army. She fled the country today, August 5, 2024, in a helicopter to India, after her 15-year fascist rule.

The “People’s Republic of Bangladesh” with its capital Dhaka is a country in South Asia, with a population of almost 170 million people. Bangladesh shares land borders with India to the north, west, and east, and Myanmar to the southeast. The country constitutes the sovereign part of the historical and ethnolinguistic region of Bengal, which was divided during the partition of India in 1947 as part of a Muslim Union with Pakistan, from which it separated in a bloody war of independence in 1971.
