Nika Shakarami, the 16/17-year-old girl, was arrested on September 19, 2022, in Tehran by the security police, during the recent popular uprising and at the forefront of fighting women. She was tortured and murdered on Sept. 20 by the ruling fascist Shia Islamic State in Iran. Nasrin Shakarami, Nika’s mother, has now revealed that: “the security authorities are pressuring and threatening her to admit that her daughter has committed suicide!!

A few days ago, the security police had forced Nasrin’s sister (Atash Shakarami) and brother (Mohsen Shakarami) into a “TV confession”. They have “admitted” that Nika has not been murdered, but that she has fallen to the ground from a high-rise building with the aim of committing suicide. In this connection, the police have arrested six construction workers to testify about the course of events!!

But Nasrin Shakarami does not accept this terrible criminal act and the false scenario, which is well known to the people. She says in a video clip posted on social media: “My daughter Nika left home at 5:00 PM on September 19, 2022, with the intention of participating in a street demonstration against the mandatory Hijab in Tehran. I was in contact with her several times and asked her to return home. The last time I called her cell phone, it was around 11:30 p.m. Although the shouts of the protesters did not allow me to hear Nika’s answer as well, I understood that she along with some other friends are on the run from the police forces. After this time, the mobile phone was switched off and my phone connection with her was completely cut off.

On the morning of September 20, together with my brother Mohsen, we visited various relevant authorities within the security police, but to no avail. For nine days, we knew nothing about her condition. Finally, we learned that she has been arrested by the “Sepah Pasdaran” (“Islamic Revolutionary Guard”), she is fine, but she is under interrogation.

After ten days that Nika had disappeared without a trace, we were told by the security police that she is in a morgue in southern Tehran. The police showed us several pictures of my daughter, which according to them had been taken on the morning of September 20th. On September 29th, we received Nika’s murdered body for burial in her hometown of “Khorram Abad” (in the Lorestan region of western Iran). On the way, we were stopped several times and threatened by regime agents to keep quiet. The morning of October 4, 2022, when we had intended to bury her at our chosen burial site, the security police stole Nika’s body and secretly buried her in another village without our permission.

I had seen Nika’s body in the morgue, with arms and legs intact, but due to several heavy blows with a hard object (according to the medical certificate), the skull (from the back of the head) and also the face (teeth) were crushed. And thus my daughter had been murdered. But the security authorities are threatening to harm me if I do not confess to the ridiculous and childish “suicide” scenario on a television show. The police still haven’t returned Nika’s mobile phone and ID document to us”.
