Statement Regarding The Slogan From the River to the Sea

The slogan of “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” had different meanings in the past where it was mainly used for a nation-state of Palestine from the river of Jordan to the Mediterranean sea.

After the revolution of 1979, when the Islamists stole the revolution and gained power in Iran, in fact, the idea of an Islamic nation-state was transformed into an Islamic transnational state. This is what Khomeini, the first religious supreme leader after the revolution, meant by the statement “exporting the revolution.” Iranian constitution reflects the wish of the late supreme leader. According to the Iranian constitution, articles 152 & 154, the famous laws of exporting the Islamic revolution, the Iranian state has a duty in creating Islamist organizations all across the Middle East seeking to create an Islamic transnational state. Hezbollah in Lebanon, Fatemiyon in Afghanistan, Hashad Al-Shabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in Iraq, Modafean-e-Haram (Holy Shrine Defenders) in Syria, Houthis in Yemen, and Hamas in Palestine which gets almost all the help & financial support from the Iranian regime. The idea of creating different Islamic organizations with one ideology all over the Middle East has only one clear message that the Iranian regime seeks to create an Islamic transnational state in the Middle East.

The slogan of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is no longer just a slogan of Palestinian nationalists who seek to create an Islamic nation-state from the Jordan River to the sea, but political and ideological message behind the slogan changed by the Hezbollah, as one of the mercenaries of the Iranian regime, to not just seeking to create a nation-state anymore but creating an Islamic transnational state that will connect the Mediterranean sea (Palestine/Lebanon) to the Euphrates river(Karbala and where another mercenary of the Iranian regime “Hashad Al-Shabi is located”).

Karbala is one of the most important locations for the ideology of the Iranian regime and its mercenaries who seek to create an Islamic transnational state in the Middle East. Karbala is where Hossein, 3rd Imam of 12 Imam Shia, was martyred and buried. That’s why, for Hezbollah, the way to free Palestine will pass from Karbala as it was mentioned hundreds of times by the Iranian regime and Hezbollah.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” & “the way of free Palestine will pass from Karbala” are the main slogans of Hezbollah that in fact the meaning behind of these slogans according to political statements and behavior of Hezbollah, is an Islamic transnational state from Karbala (the most important river in the history of Islamic ideology of Iranian regime and its mercenaries is Euphrates river) to Palestine/Lebanon (Mediterranean).

Our readers may object that they don’t intend to use the slogan to create an Islamic state and want to use the slogan to share their desire for a free Palestine. These thoughts and desires are noble, but unfortunately, the well is poisoned. By chanting this slogan, we give Islamic fascist under the directive of the Iranian regime cover & protection within our spaces. Also, we anarchists do not believe a slogan that was always popular with nationalist groups because its mentioned territory of Greater Palestine has a place in our spaces.

We are not making demands from Palestinians struggling for their freedom from the settler-colonial ethnonationalist state of Israel. Palestinians need to focus to break free from all authoritarian power structures oppressing them by arming and organizing themselves. Our responsibility as the international community in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle is to watch their back so their revolution does not fail or even worse stolen by another despotic regime. We need to focus on identifying these power structures and weakening them. Giving space to fascists (including Islamic fascists) will not be conducive to that goal.

We in Iran tasted the bitter taste of treachery when those who we considered as comrades, those who professed to be freedom fighters, targeted their guns back at us right after clinching victory. Some of us vowed to not let that happen again. Our plea to the international community in solidarity with Palestine is the same.
